M858 clutch kits?

hubbs works well, i have a slight variation to his because I ride at quite a bit higher elevation....just be sure to tell him the elevation you ride...

So true you can stand back on the boards and make it wheelie or just step forward and just ride it like a normal person. I don’t have a clutch kit and so far mine seems fine. It definitely rides better than my dad’s asender. I feel more in control.
The ease of riding the chassis is noticeable right away. Predictable, easy to balance, super light steering effort compared to ascender. After three rides I agree with others that it is lazy on the bottom end with stock clutching. It becomes really noticeable on and off the throttle in the trees. I'll be looking to make improvements here, but trying to figure out what else I'm going to do for power adders first.

Im gonna try a 46 deg. I had my 9R out yesterday and was riding them back to back. The 9R blows it out of the water down low. Granted I know no matter what I throw at it, it wont have the 9R feel. But it needs something more down low
I also feel like it needs less helix, I wanted to get all the way through break in before I changed to many things though.

Im down to a 48/44 and still not holding rpm. Ive added weight but Im still seeing flashes to 8300 and pulling down to 8k.
Have not done the reflash update yet though. Gonna try that before I try the 46/42

I've been told they have a rev limiter. I've been trying to get the Dyno sheet out of Ibex for their tune with no luck.. so far I've been shooting for 8k and it feels good it just doesn't back shift as quick as id like with the 48° and my current springs.

Guys might want to add what track length and lug height you're running. I know on my old sled when I switched from a 2.6" lug powerclaw to a 3" powerclaw it was a little less consistent on the clutching. Extra grip from the 3" was loading it harder in some snow conditions. I actually went back from the 2.52 gearing I was running with the 2.6" to the 2.63 gearing and it was happier again.

Might be some similar situations for guys running a 154 2.6 with 2.86P vs a 165 3.0 with 3.5P.

Dynotech Research dyno runs (of a prototype sled) showed peak power at about 7900rpm last spring. There's a new owner now since Jim passed away, hopefully we see some new dyno runs now that there have been updates to tuning.

The rev limiter has to be over 8500 if there is one.

The way he runs those on the dyno they typically show a lower peak power rpm than what you actually see in the field.
Gauges and butt dyno tells me it pulls the best at 81-8150

All my cats have always felt better 1-200rpm higher on the tach than what the dynos say is peak power

most dynos at fairly low altitudes compared to riding altitudes....as you go up in altitude, best power rpm will go up also....if you were to place the dyno at 8000 ft, the dyno readings would closely correspond to where engine "felt" best....

Pulling 8200 at 9500 feet. Clutch kit made a world of difference. 7600 the last time felt like a turd. Bottom end is substantially better.

Definitely after 3-4 hours. Started at 7650-7700, now 8100 and pulls much better.

I tried a 46 yesterday with the stock spring. Didn't work well. Gonna put a SW 155-220 spring and see if that works.
