Gunna run a mesh hood on a 09-M8. Any reason I HAVE to run the guage pod (besides keeping an eye on water temp)? No headlight either. I heard you don't have to "trick" the wiring on the 09's. Anyone have experience with this?

this will be my first year on the 09 m8.all the m8 rectifiers are bigger than like the old m7's that needed to have extra power draws to keep from fry'n the ecm.
so you will be fine. i have a mesh hood as well, but until i get the clutching dialed in ( needing a tach) ill have to keep the ugly white thing on.

One thing I noticed about no guage or headlight is the risidual power to the tailight after the sled is turned off. Yes the taillight stays on for a moment. So my thinking is extra power running around the system. I just ordered a resister kit from fastlane. Couldn't hurt, right?
