Lower boost=better throttle response?

I say yes because with low boost your clutching is different lighter weights ,springs and helix. Theres a bunch of variables such as octane needs that play into it as well.
 
From a motor's perspective at the crank...if you have a smaller turbo, yes...it has less inertia to spin-up to speed. Bigger turbos have more lag because they are heavier...and it takes a certain amount of energy to spin it up.
As for once you include clutching...that will get argued all day for the rest of time...like any clutching discussions.
 
Lower octane goes bang faster so it gives you more get up and go, but if it exceeds pressure it goes bang to quick and detonate s early which will melt pistons. High octane is more stable but burns slower, it will handle more power but doesn't give as much bang.

But anything can be manipulated for your needs, find a power level of boost you like them setup the clutching to do what you want.
 
I get that a smaller turbo will spool faster. that wasn't my question. I'm asking if there is a noticeable difference between running a t28 at 8 psi vs. 15 psi.
 
If all things are equal no I don't see how it could much, maybe a a millisecond to get from say 7psi to 15psi but once the boost is on it comes on hard and you wouldn't notice it.

But like said above low boost will have lighter wights, run less octane, and prolly not need an intercooler which is also gonna help, with a smoother/less restrictive air flow and no pressure drop.
