Lots of cons regarding engine. See sticky at the top of this forum re: CFI engine failures. Other than that the sled performs and handles well.

Practically a dime a dozen because of the Pro in 2011...
Handles and rides well...
Engine....well....Just make sure it's not the factory pistons in there and because of that and the new body in 2011 you should be able to get a deal and parlay those savings into "the fix" if it has the stock motor.

Sound like you would be better to avoid the 800 Dragon. There is plenty to read on these motors and much if it is not good unless you or someone before you has spent good money to fix the issues.

600 or 700's in that chassis would be better suited for lower maintenance sleds.

2010 800 motors are much better than the 2007-2009. 90% of the problems reported with the 800 motors are from 07-09. I know 4 people with 2010 800's (including mine), and all, except mine, have more than 2,000 miles with no problem. Mine has 1500 miles.

Good luck!

I just bought a roller and have been putting together a new motor...bought used cases..slp put new bearings on the crank...went with all oem gaskets and ordered a new renick cyl..and just got my MtntK KIT so i am ready to build and install...So if you buy it i would at least buy a fix kit and get a new renick cyl...

I agree, mine has almost 1300 miles on it, no problems, I also agree that
most of the problems were with 07-09. I posted a picture on here a while
back when I put on the slp pipe, & took pictures of the pistons, they looked perfect (exhaust side only). Also when I took my sled to the dealer to have the v-force reeds installed, just this past september 2012, they also said the pistons looked perfect, intake & exhaust side. One thing to note, I never mix oil with my fuel, even when I broke it in, dealer said it could cause injectors to go bad, just sayin. Hope this helps.

I had one put 1000 miles on it no problems. My first instinct was to tell you to run away because of the motor. I liked the IQ ride but a M8 in the same year would be as much fun without the engine worry.

After reading through this forum I bought a 08 D7 at the beginning of this season. It had almost 6000 miles on it. Somewhere along the line someone rebuilt the motor and installed a new track. I got it for a real good price because the guy I bought it from had no documentation on the motor. I put about 350 miles on it this season with absolutely no problems. The guys I ride with have An 08 RMK 700, an 06 King Cat 900 and a 2011 Pro. I was able to go anywhere they went with no problem, even with a few less ponies - and I could do it on a lot less gas. I would definitely recommend the 700, very reliable.

I have a 10 Dragon 155 with 1062 miles and just blew a piston which scored the cyl wall....now it needs the mountain tek "fix" kit and a refurbished cyl. it is a typical problem with all the CFI engines. other than that the sled is awesome.
