Hyfax Wear on my Nytro, Would a wheel kit, or Hyperfax help?

Yesterday I pulled my Nytro out of the trailer after a awesome day of riding on Saturday.

Sadly I discovered that the ride home Saturday afternoon on about a mile of Mud/Dirt spelled the end of my Hyfax. It was 100% gone in places with the track touching bare metal on the rails.

So..

I need a new Hyfax at the minimum, and I am wondering if now might be a good time to consider installing a wheel kit to reduce the wear next time around??

I saw this one which seems to releave the stress right where mine burned through.

(CHECK OUT OUR FRONT WHEEL PERFORMANCE KIT AS WELL FOR THIS MODEL) This Wheel Kit will mount in between the two rails YOU CAN PURCHASE EITHER 1 OR 2 KITS as seen in the picture.

YOU WILL NOT NEED TO DRILL AND ALL MOUNTING HARDWARE COMES WITH THE KIT This kit will reduce the DRAG CURRENTLY on the THIS portion of the rails allowing the track to free spin more instead of dragging across the rails in this area.

This kit will also help with Hy-Fax wear in this area as well.

Also came across this one.

This wheel kit saves the hyfax from being wore down at the arch of the rail where the hyfax wear is at it's worst. We also offer a rear kit for the MTX and XTX. You will spend less time and money replacing your hyfax and achieve a higher top end speed.

This kit includes 2 wheels with bearings, billet stand offs and hardware

Please specify your sled model when ordering: FX, MTX, RTX, XTX

I guess I should also ask about HIPERFAX?

Is that a worthwhile investment??

Are there any significant drawbacks to the extra wheels??
Are there any particular brands to avoid or to look for??

Hyperfax is the way to go. Yes it is expensive, but it wears like iron!
You can add wheels and it helps, however the OEM hyfax still wears in the areas where you don't have wheels.
I have removed wheels before, when I run hyperfax without issues. I do have scratchers though.
Of course dirt and gravel is hard on any hyfax, as well as drivers, track, skis, wear bars, etc.

I'm getting tired of worring about hyfax and on the hi speed groomed trails mine still heat up. I either got to add wheels or go for better sliders. Is that the only place a guy can get them? Those arnt long enough anyhow are they?
Ah I see they offer 162 which would work for me....I'm just thinking 40 bucks per year going on 4 years is 160 bucks....coulda bought these and I bet they'd still be on there!

I just plan on changing out my hyfax once a year, no matter what. I should not that I use scratchers pretty religiously when the snow is very hard, on and off trail.

Deep lug tracks + high speed = fast wearing hyfax

You need to stop riding those "groomed" trails and start riding some powder! Maybe even a hill or two and put that turbo to some use! :hurt:

Sorry buddy.......I couldn't resist! :face-icon-small-hap

Dont even get me started MR:face-icon-small-dis Where we ride the last few seasons groomed trail....freezes....guess what in the am? Hard pack....and I like to hear the whistle outta ever corner. I'm ready to try a set:face-icon-small-hap

So the obvious question is.
With the Apex 162 fit on the Nytro 162, or is there a fundamental different in the hyfax of the Apex vs. the Nytro ?
