My Marathon classic deck is due for a freshen after 5 years but I'm not sure what to use on it?

The wood itself is fine, I just want to freshen it up. It doesn't look like it was paint, but it doesn't look like stain either. My plan was to knock all the superglides off it and lay down a new coat of whatever the hell was on it.

Does anyone know what they used or what you have used with success?

Thanks!

On the wood I tried paint, stain, and 2 part epoxy paint before trying cheap tar based autobody undercoating. I used the brush on type. Minor touch-up will be required at the season but better than the others.

Only down side is it will become tacky if you spill gas on it.

Under $10/can

I did not try the more expensive rubberized undercoating in the spray can. I know it drys faster and is more resistant to gas spills.

I discovered during the process that the expandable sides were rotten along the edge, so I replaced them both.

I ended up just using a pail of flat black porch paint.
