Cracked my crankcase after blowing belt! help!

Has this happened to anybody running those 060 on a 08 m1000. I blew the belt at wot, then next day about 30 min into ride i blew the mag side piston apart on the bottom end, thats when i noticed a crack in the crankcase. Was this a result of the belt exploding the day before???
 
My crankcase cracked because of the piston skirt breaking and getting caught between the rod and the lower case when it went around. Where is the crack on yours?
 
Ahh! thats what happened, the skirt broke off and must of fell in there and cracked the case. The crack is about 1''1/2 long and is on the left side if your sitting on the machine right along the weld. How did you fix yours?
 
If its just a crack then its an easy weld job. Take it to a good welder not your buddy that just learned how to TIG.
 
They replaced mine cause of the crack. I was lucky enough to still have a warranty. If the crack isn't close to the water jacket maybe it could be welded. If you can find a used one that would be the way to go. The problem with JB weld is that aluminum expands and contracts differently than steel. Not sure how JB weld fits into that but maybe it would crack or separate? Anyone on here ever use JB weld for a crankcase? I'd like to hear how it went.
 
JB weld, It works just fine IF you use the slow cure type of jb weld stuff. They make some that is more runny and takes like 48 hours to cure. I used it and t has held for many seasons with no troubles at all. Prep the surface right and your good to go. Just for the info Mine was a hole about the size of a penny out of the bottom of the case as well as cracked about 2 inches.
