Black Diamond Extreme Restocking WHAT???

BE INFORMED - Black Diamond Extreme has hidden return fees!!! :eek: They charge a 15% restocking fee that is not stated on either their website or their invoices. I bought their air box kit and two sets of side panel vents. I was not happy with the quality, so called to return them. I asked to have a different item sent out instead. They agreed and said it would be in the mail. I later found out it was on backorder, decided to take a refund and at this point after two previous conversations, they finally disclosed their return fee. The salesman was rude and gave me the runaround and excuses that it was ok to charge the fee without previous disclosure. He justified the fee because he has to take the time to open the box and inspect the returned items. Never mind the fact that I paid for shipping twice, on top of the return fee and lost not only my time but nearly $100. As to the materials used to make these items... in my opinion Black Diamond Extreme parts are like high quality Wal-Mart clearance materials. For respectable customer service and treatment, be sure to speak directly with the owner.
 
I was hesitant about the side vents at first, but after I installed them, I really like them (as long as the glue holds).

Black Diamond makes great parts! Better than Arctic Cat in my opinion. Awesome Guys to deal with!

i also agree, good co. and good service. try buying anything online or over the phone and you will more than likely get charged a restocking fee.if everyone else is happy w/ the quality and your not, is it possible your a little too picky??????why should they suffer, they are trying to make a quality product that most would be happy with at a reasonable price.parts that are over built to make EVERYONE happy wont sell as well because they cost too much to manufacture, so the price goes up, and we dont buy.

Mitch it was me you spoke with on the phone, I apologize tht you did not like the parts you ordered.
I will say I was not rude at all I explained and we both said "thank you" at the end of the conversation. Also you left out the part you received a discount on the front end of which was greater than the return fee.
I do apologize, after your call and after you had your wife call and swear at me I did check the website, I thought it stated it on there but it does not I have the return policy in there it just does not show I am having the web provider look into it. I did take your comments seriously, I called around to see if snowmobile industry businesses stated or listed their restock charges, some do some don't but one thing that was certain is there was ALWAYS a restock charge for the snowmobile industry businesses that I called STARTING at 15% up to 25% so we are at the low end. Again I apologize I hate losing customers I guess we can not make everyone happy no matter how hard we try. I do not want to start a big thread so I would appreciate if we just dropped this however you can give me a call anytime at 507.824.9966 (I am on sales call now I will be there tomorrow afternoon) if you would like to discuss further.

I will vouch for Mike as well... I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past and will continue... My black box air box worked well last year, I was leery about their vent kit stick on and surprised when I tried to peal it off when I broke the nose of my hood to replace how hard it was to get off...

Also last year I ordered a special cut helix and it ended up not working for me, it was what I had ordered but I couldn't make it... Instead of being out a helix they took it back and exchanged it for small difference compared to some places where I would have been stuck with what I had bought since it was custom...

BDX is great to deal with, end of story. By the tone of your post, I bet you have problems with a lot of companies. Sometimes just being a tool means that you are going to have problems. Ever wonder if you are the problem instead of EVERYONE else. I love how people create accounts just to *****. Welcome to the forum Johnny 3 post! Thanks for your contributions!

Keep up the great work! You PM'd me right back to a question I had before buying a product from you. Your web site is super easy, great shipping updates by email, and I literally just installed the board mods, only to come find this post. I was going to post one of my own giving you props not only for great service, quality products (I bought more than I planned) and some of the best installation documents I've ever seen.

Oh, and who doesn't have a restocking fee? No one. 15% is pretty stinking generous!

Based on my very recent experience with you and your company, I'll buy more than enough to offset your loses above :D:D

Ive ordered from BDX a few times and its top notch. Always answered my questions and fast shipping. I would order from them again ANYTIME.

I also bought the bdx intake from them, nice people product looks good, all around great experience. Thanks for great stuff at great prices.

I have been in this industry for 16 years and there is ALWAYS a restocking fee!!! Mike at BDX was totally with in his right's to charge one and you will NEVER go to a dealership and NOT pay one get used to it. If you can't afford to pay a restock fee then don't buy toys! Or try to find custom parts at Wal-mart.

I will stick up for Mike at BDX I picked up a dealership though him and he is a top notch guy with great stuff.

I agree it takes allot of time and money to stock parts ship box up print invoices wait on backordered stuff ect, ect a restocking fee should have just been a no brainer.
 
dealt with them also called b4 ordering answered all my questions bought some anti ratchets thanks works awesome will deal with them again.
