I would love to attend something like this, but why cant you schdule it on consective days?

this schedule will restrict attendees to locals only as it would require me to pay for multiple nights in a motel and take several days off work

why can’t you have a Friday night class and then a Saturday clinic???

Very worth while experience... The mock rescues are the real eye opener.
You can never get enough practice with your beacon, probe and shovel.

Make sure to not come alone, bring your riding buddies to the class.
the information knowledge and experience they gain will save your life.

here is something Phatty said in the past and I believe it to be true.

"there is practicing with your beacons... and then their is real life training with the beacons. Full on sprinting at 10,000 feet up a 35 degree slope looking at your beacon while holding a shovel and probe will wear you out. Then shoveling a 6 foot hole is just killer. Practice the actually rescue instead of just finding your beacon in the field... BIG DIFFERENCE..."

You forgot the freaking out, hyperventilating, how much time has gone by, did I mention freaking out because of a possible friend being buried in concrete that is actually snow.

lol true.

The more you properly train for the situation the calmer you will be. Freakin out
only adds to the confusion.

like they always say, "cool head will always prevail."

In order to take control of the situation you must first take control of the group you are with and make sure everyone is on the same page and working together.

I participated in this when they did it a couple of seasons ago. Learned a lot and the experiance on the mountain cannot be taught in the classroom.

Worth every dime of $200!!!

There's still a few slots open and we'd be psyched to get y'all on board. What a great New Years resolution... take a class that gives you the skills and confidence to know when you can get in big terrain, that it's good to go, and you come home safely to your family and friends.
Call me at 801-231-2170 or email craig@utahavalanchecenter.org for more details.

I agree with bossrev here:

It was the most humbling experience/activity I have participated it. Just remember that you only get out what you put into this. Put in 100% and you will get alot of knowledge and experience!

Thanks Craig for putting stuff like this on!
