Expert and X shocks are valved differently. Expert shocks are good. Finally. Better than Freeride as far as 1-2 foot bumps. I am sure the FR will take bigger hits.

Has anyone added the Zbros spring kit to their stock expert shocks? I'm a bigger guy and the front end seems mushy to me.

Put revalved x shocks on my SP. gasshockrepair.com. I recently had to put my SP KYB’s back on for a few rides while having one of the X shocks repaired. Definitely noticed the difference, to me it was money well spent.

I did the same thing with revalved X shocks on a SP. I agree, definitely worth the cost and much more reasonable than full aftermarket setup.

We always have our X package shocks rebuilt. Teton Perfomance, Teton Valley Idaho. Best thing you can doo IMO!
