Does anyone have a kit laying around or know where I can still get one? Would need a kit for a 03 Rmk 700 (part #2874761).

The 2004 reverse setup requires a left handle control switch with the reverse button, a compatible wiring harness leading to that switch, the special 22 degree flywheel, and a team secondary clutch that works backward. Optional is the oil pump that works backward. So you can buy all of these parts for an 04 RMK, off of EBAY and install them on your 03. If you don't have a 151, then the track tends to dig a ditch when put in reverse.

Thanks. I have a list of the part numbers that are needed and did look into them a bit. Pretty sure the 03’s have the correct oil pump, but I believe the cdi needs to be changed as well. I’ve seen the kits come up for $300-$400 though, and would be cheaper that route.

Yep, 2004 CDI also. The reverse is why it is hard to find a 2004 rmk or the 159 vertical escape, for sale.

A full, new old stock kit is probably going to be pricey these days. Piecing together what you need or buying a parts sled is going to be the way to go. Depending on where you're at, you might want to keep your eyes pealed for a wrecked sled or one with a blown motor. You're probably looking at less than $500 there, and just about getting the reverse parts for free by the time you sell off what you don't need. That said, reverse is really nice for unloading and turning around on the trail, but there's not much else it's going to get you out of...

The used snowmobile parts dealer in Cle Elum, Washington (509-260-0946) who advertises on the Portland and Seattle craigslist, probably can assemble the complete kit.
