850 Break in Info

Anybody have real knowledge as to the break parameters for the 850?

I'm guessing:
1-2 degrees timing retard?
Some increased oil flow?
Slightly rich A/F ratio?

I'm at about 40% left on the breakin, guessing it will take 300ish miles.
Again, these are a collective guess.
Does anyone have real factory info?

Thanks

at 40% it is just a count down....still might burble but it is through...have fun!

Everyone needs to check there temp sensor in the pipe. mine was out and dangling on the pipe. I also noticed some play in the drive shaft checked the chain tension but it was good. I am going to remove the chaincase cover and check it out.

Page 100 of the operator's guide: "During the break in period the engine management system controls some engine parameters. Duration is based on fuel volume. It takes approximately two tank fulls of gasoline. During this period engine performance will not be optimal. Fuel and oil consumption will be higher."

Page 74 of the 2017 Shop Manual: "For the first 6 hrs of engine break in the percent of oil delivery is increased."

The above info states that there is increased fuel and oil for a duration of the break in period but does not say anything about timing?

Break in duration is based on fuel usage therefore the wide range of percent of break in remaining versus mileage.

I have noticed that as the percent remaining declines the engine responds better to throttle input and loses the burble that is most pronounced when new.
