2018 rmk 800 a-arm surprise

While repairing the left side up/low a-arm, i noticed the right ride lower a-arm has moved back about 1/4" up against the nuts.
How can that happen? I bought the sled used, and i guess the last guy cut a corner.
I'm curious on how that can happen, any guesses ?
Maybe the pivot shaft cir-clip installed backwards on the rear, and an impact knocked the clip off, and they didn't install the washer.
