2015 sled weights

Here's my '15 M7000 with EVO Big Chute kit, 162x3" PowerClaw, Kmod with Raptors. Full of fluids including fuel, a full 3.3 gal. Mountain Addiction can, spare belt and AC tool kit, ready to ride. Sorry for the poor pics.

heavy old cat

I thought the 15 Polaris I towed out last weekend with my 13 cat felt really heavy !!

pig

Im not sure a pro could pull a cat out little short on HP, try running a doo down to help next time, oh thats right there wont be a next time never see cats be pulled much its alway poos.

Funny thing is that was the second cat with motor problems pulled out this year. Failed water pump took out one motor and the other dropped a piston skirt. Did cat start sticking Chinese parts in the great zuk engine like the rest of the chassis is full of?
Oh and the Nancy Doo boys that were with wouldn't hook up to either cause of their weak back bumper??? First I heard of that one. Lol

I don't understand how it can be this heavy if it's supposedly lighter than the 1100... take away the 14 gal of gas (84 lbs) and it's 600 lbs ready to ride... that's a crazy number.

I'm still trying to understand how it is that folks are saying the yami motor is lighter than the cat, when the 7000 without turbo is clearly almost as heavy as the 9000.... then add turbo and it's heavier.

put a big bore in the 8000, fill it with oil, and you're at 510 max. Put a turbo on the 7000, and it seems you're at 600...

So many times we see the Arctic Cat mountain sleds demonized because of heavier weight than the Polaris Pro RMK. We also tend to agree that the Suzuki built 800 in the Arctic Cat is the preferred engine. That Suzuki built 800 engine is 18 pounds heavier than the Polaris 800. Add in the three pound heavier drive clutch which is weighted to properly balance the heavier crank in the Arctic Cat and 21 pounds of the difference in the two sleds is found in just the engines. Seven pounds more of the difference in the two sleds is in the exhaust silencers. Just swapping engines and exhaust would leave the Pro Climb lighter than a standard RMK by a fair amount, and maybe a bit lighter than a Pro RMK.

You are correct sir. And I am not willing to swap motors with the Poo. No matter how much the Poo guys claim the motor is good now. It's easy to pull 30lbs off the Cat. It's also easy to get an extra 20hp out of the 800. I'm a little uneasy about this new DI motor Cat is supposed to be releasing. I hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot with an unreliable motor.

yeah the slow lane can be good and relaxing from time to time.
now go enjoy your m7 oh sorry pro 7
