2014 New Changes for Yamaha?

The Yamaha 120 kids sled is just a blue Arctic cat, what makes anyone think they won't do the same with another sled? They are definately working on something together.....exactly what, who knows. I'm thinking Cat will be needing some help with engine development with Sukuki out of the picture....no way a co. like Cat can handle the engineering, costs and testing and EPA compliance on their own...if they did it would be a huge risk in this economy. The question is, what does Cat have that Yamaha wants?

Yes Cat has something Yamaha wants ........Sales.

I still believe this to be.......

Question is.... If yamaha and AC enter into shared technologies I don't think the AC 1100 motor will be around for long... As the New Yamee motors will replace on the 4S front. Why I think this is as if my memory serves me correct AC patented forward 4S exhaust c/w Turbo which AC utilized MCX to design turbo system for the 660 engine in 2002 release. This will allow Yamaha to have forward exiting exhaust... With a factory turbo. And AC could utilize Yamaha's 2 stroke direct technologies.... AC has a long way to go to compete with Yamaha on 4s.. I follow WSB and MotoGP... Have u heard of M1!! 240 bhp naturally aspirated Cross-plane 4.... Now that is cool. Check it out.

Hmm... yes, if Cat wants a direct injection 2 stroke to compete with doo they would be helped out a lot by borrowing tech from someone else...

nytro to pro and it didn't handle any better or seem lighter? So you must have a $25k nytro and must also be fawking drunk all the time if its so easy to tip over on your nytro.

extensively modded nytro compared to bone stock rmk and it felt the same? guess what, rmk is half the price

Really ??? A h I f I had a poo I would have the same money or more in it with turbo and suspention mods .hear the arms bend on hard drifts !!! with all the issues drive shaft ,clutch, engine, a arms ..dimond drive belt issues....and I hear those parts are on back order !
Would that clutch and drive Handel 200 hp ? So you would have to get a aftermarket clutch ? Doesn't that piss you off ??. If I spent 13k on a sled that was broke all the time ?? I'd make them take it back ...

Unless you were Yamaha blue underwear, I don't remember the Viper being that great of a sled. Actaully the SRX was faster in short track version and I don't remember the sales of them being super high like the 1997 RMK 700 or the 2000 700 Highmark. Those sleds were more than just keeping up. They set the next bench mark.

I hope Yamaha does do something awesome. I hope they all do. It's just going to make the rest do "better".

I'm going to predict a redesigned Viper for the year of the snake with a cross plane engine with automatic transmition and factory boost as a option . The CVT is not very efficient at putting power to the track and the crossplane engine runs way higher rpm then a Cvt can handle. There would be substatial weight loss from removing the gear reduction, cvt clutchs and chain case. Would also loose that mechanical shift leaver Don't know about throttle by wire could they still have TORS Defiantly would want a teather on the snow. Oh ya and they will move everything to one chassis to cut back on costs. And variable cam timing will be used to increase midrange torque and change valve overlap when in boost. They will have the coils right on the spark plug wires

Honestly if that is real, I will be on one when its an MTX. I own a '13 proclimb, so one with a Yamaha engine in it would be exactly what I would want in a mountain sled. Easy to ride and easy to boost? Sign me up!
