AD Boivin only made 100 of these (800cc) Snow Hawks.
If you like snowbikes you will LOVE the Snow Hawk! Instead of the snowbike 50’ish horsepower you get 140hp. It is a single ski snowmobile. Unlike a snowbike you can lay the Snow Hawk on its side in turns. Land in deep pow without going over the handlebars.
I am the original and only owner of this hawk. I have all the original paper work from buying it directly from the manufacturer AD Boivin in Quebec.
New belly pan, which is the main black plastic body panel that surrounds most of the sled.
Over $15K in mods from stock for deep mountain powder:
- Track: New, Challenger Extreme 159in x 12.75in x 2.3in
- Skid System: Timbersled Mountain Horse (USD$2,272 plus labour installing it)
- Ski: Large over sized ski and stainless brackets.
- Fuel Tank: 45L foam filled (to stop sloshing)
- Chain drive (from original belt drive and torque limiter)
- Steering column: relocated forward from original factory location
- Relocated foot pegs
- Cooling: white surf cooling system (heat exchanger mounted inside skid rails)
- Exhaust pipe: Jaws, ceramic coated.
- Altitude compensation kit: Intel-a-jet
- Other: reeds, head, water temp gauge, exhaust temp gauge, Weisco pistons,
ENGINE:
Needs a top end rebuild. The Weisco pistons and maybe cylinders need to be replaced. I ran it too lean and rubbed the pistons on the cylinders. Approx $2K to repair. The bottom end is great.
