2001 rmk 800 changing cdi for mtns?

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2001 rmk 800. It has an slp pipe and can. The owner told me i had to jet and change the cdi box for the mtns.
Never heard of such a thing as to changing the cdi box?

Did he give you another one with it? He might be running an XC one down low.

Nope a single CDI is all any sled comes with.

Some guys run the 700 or 440 cdi boxes they say that they have a better timing curve. I ran the 700 cdi box on my PSI 990 if you change from the stock 800 cdi to the 700 or the 440 you also need to change the stator and flywheel.

Figure out which CDI is the stock one and put it on and run it... everywhere.
