2.6 Track Ripping Easily

My riding buddy and I were wonder if anyone has been having any issues with there 2.6 tracks ripping easily so far this year? I realize it's early season and we expose ourselves to a lot more of mother nature, but this has me suspect as the track is experiencing tearing in 150 miles in not just one part of the track but multiple parts of the track and in different areas of the track if that makes sense. I know normally when I see lug damage it's a few lugs in a row are missing or you see a couple spots on the track from two totally separate incidences. What are your thoughts? In the pics we have one middle lug, two mag side, and one pto. He said he had a few other tore up lugs too in various areas but only took pics of the big ones. Rider was riding Tog last week on what he described a 3-4 ft base in the good areas.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Shawn

From what ive been told about Tog is there is no base yet and it is bottomless right down to the dirt/rocks/trees.

Cant say for sure but I'd say this track got into some rocks.

It's early season riding, most places are still lower than average on snow and if they have snow it came recently except maybe Colorado and it has not set up at all. Its the snow we all die for bottomless powder but no base snow under it.

A arms, Tracks, Spindles. There are alot of guys who have been out riding alot with these lower snow/base conditions, it becomes hard to say what is a weakness and what is caused by the conditions.

I know of a friend who has 12 riding days in so far this year and not a single hiccup with any of these parts. So....:juggle:

#1 pic of paddle-on the small ridge behind the torn lug there is a gouge out of it. Obviously not a track issue. More like hitting a frozen, hard, solid obstacle. Like a rock maybe?

The next issue is that you claim 3-4 of base but the next poster says there is no base and sleds are trenching to dirt and rocks. Which is it? Is there a base or not?

A final observation-post pics of the paddles in front and behind the damaged paddles. You might get more credibility cuZ it looks like you are intentionally hiding something.

A final final thought-go buy a new track Mr. Early season rider!! Bahahahahahahahahaha.

I know that the new 2.6 tracks seem soft, which is probably why they work so well. Maybe they are easier to tear. My Doo 3" is stiff as can be, and I SHOULD have a ton of damage but don't.

I am a half of a lug short on my 3 inch after today
Too many rocks. No base. I am done until we get a few feet. Snow in Montana sucks. Should have went to Cooke but roads were really bad.

Hard to say no when it looks so inviting in the mountains!!!!!

mine has at least 1 ripped lug, don’t know if it was from a rock, branch or anything though
i can say it has seen no worse conditions than my 2.4 did over the last two low snow seasons :face-icon-small-dis

I wasn't there, but from the pics of there trip, the snow didn't look bad. The Togwotee snotel was at 25 when they arrived and they pick up about 18 more over the course of a few days. Was it early season riding ... yes.... where they riding on dirt.... no. I am not saying he didn't catch something, it is obvious there are no signs of delamination. The big question is had the 5 series track or any other track gone over the same area, would it look the same? Will the new track hold up better or worse than our expectations? We all know someone who bought a new pair a treads for the the truck only to find out they only to find out they last 15k.

PS. 1 is Mag
2 is Mag
3 is Center lug
4 PTO

Do you have an aftermarket bumper? If so, and bolts are facing in, they could be hitting the track at full compression. Some bumpers come with bolts that are too long. The upgrade from Polaris even says to face them out.
