09 XP digital gauges malfunctioning

can anyone help me out i've got a 09 xp 800 and the odometer, gas bars, handgrip warmers and thumb warmer bars do not work on my digital cluster but everything else does. does that mean my cluster itself is bad or something else is going on? I already tried replacing the relay switch. I am trying not to spend a bunch of money on a new cluster for no reason.

Just notice my speedometer wasn't working last weekend. Not sure I even noticed the gas bars and warmers.

I will double check them and if I have the same issues or figure out a solution I will message you back

yeah my speedometer, rpm, headlights and all of the warning lights work exept for the stuff i listed earlier.

Yea same here. its just like the bottom half of the digital read outs that don't work. I can see like the last bar of my hand warmers when they are turned all the way up and that's it. everything from there down is blank. I took the mother board out once and took a magnifying glass to it to see if any of the connections on the board needed to be re soldered but everything looks to be intact with no cracks....im guessing the gauge cluster is just bad.

Man those things are expensive to replace and you wont ever get your odometer exact to what it really is.

Dealers normally keep a "good" gauge handy to swap out in situations such as yours (i.e., they don't diagnose/fix the gauge - if it's bad they just replace it). Do you have a buddy you can borrow a working gauge from? That would confirm where the issue lies. You may be able to find a used one online if yours is bad. Also, the ECM does store milage.

Hmm interesting I asked the local skidoo dealer they said the ECM stores the hours not the mileage. So does that mean I can borrow my buddies gauge cluster and I won't mess with his mileage, like zeroing it out, when I give it back?

So I went and bought a used gauge cluster, had it programmed and everything works now but now I know that mileage stays with the gauge cluster, you can't transfer mileage from ECM to gauge or zero it out.
