No its a 05, but I dont have the belt blowing issue either ,as I think that's the biggest problem. with the cranks going ,just wanted to see how many miles everyone's getting out of theres. maybe doing a few more add on's next yr.looking at adding a U cooler, anyone running one of these, if so how much did it bring temps down?

We had two sold them one of the cranks let go at 2400 miles or somewere in that area. Polaris treated us great new crank has had the piss ran out of it he now has the same miles again and the sled is perfect and the runout on the crank is perfect as well. Not sure on my old one????

4200 miles on my 05.
The first owner went through 15 belts in 1200 miles.
I have not blown a belt in 3000 miles since putting in Comp's mounts, and run the 080 belt.

200 miles on Dan's 'Torquemaster' bottom end ... probably will have 300 on it for the season, maybe 350 if I ride like a wild man the next few days and that stupid electrical problem I still haven't figured out doesn't come back haha ..

Stock bottom end I had 830 miles on with no problems at all and only one blown belt when I had like 200 miles on the sled.

4 900s in our group, all around 1500-2000 miles, no blown cranks so far, a few belt problems in the begining, installed the slp torque mounts and some venting, i havent blwon a belt sense.

never had a problem with mine for the first 1700 miles and then the crank went causing 2800 dollars worth of damage, then blew the motor up twice after that this year... little to say i no longer have the sled and i'm waiting for my 09 to show up

I have 1700 miles on my 05 900 and the crank snapped off on the outside of the motor. The piece is still in the clutch. I have never blown a belt. I've worn a few out but have never blown one. I can understand if a crank bearing goes from lack of oil or some rust but to snap on the outside of the motor is simply a design flaw and polaris should pay for it. But the warranty is out and I'm putting in a new crank at my cost. Polaris sleds have been breaking cranks since 2002. I don't think I will waste my money on another one. My next sled will be a skidoo. When these sleds came out the cranks started breaking so polaris said to torque the bolts to 96 ft.lbs. This was just a bandaid fix to get through to the end of the warranty period. bunch of crap.

860 on my 05 900... Not sure if I should replace just the pistons, replace the pistons and send it to IndyDan, or just keep trying to sell it. I like the sled but I ride alone a lot and don't want to get stuck.

Lost pto side rod bearing at 1100 miles. Case was shot, lost piston and cylinder. Installing Indydan's torque master as we speak.:D

Almost 4700 miles and still on the original crank. Tho' did have a little motor work done last summer and did upgrade the bearings at the same time.
I still can't get enough of this sled and how it just tractors through deep pow at 5800 rpm's....everyone thinks your gonna get stuck...lol...:D

Was it the 05 pistons?

Yup!!!!

Had plans to freshen up the motor last fall for another project and then things got put off and I started the season with a few other little issues which put off the 06 piston replacement and down she went.....

Had I replaced the pistons after 4 years of riding this sled it would still be going as strong as any sled on the mountain that is not turbo'd!!!! With the original crank.....

Other than a few EGT sensor failure's my sled has been a Strong running 900..... at least that's what people tell me after they see it pull a hill there brand new sled can't do any better on!!!

4000 miles on my 05 900 untill i dropped a skirt and lost the case. spi pistons
crank was still in good shape probably go to a stock 06 piston on the rebuild. best part is i had a spare motor so i was only down for 2 days.never blow belts with comp fusion mounts and lots of venting this sled has been a strong runner from the start but is getting beat on by the hard mountain ridding. i will pick up another one next year as they should be real cheap then. properly clutched and maintained they are a strong sled
my 2 cents
