Default better sled to turbo, 2019 polaris 800 or 850?

I have really enjoyed my 2016 polaris 800 with boondocker sidekick. Pull and go for 3 years now. Likely pick up a sled in the next month and can't decide if worth it to go with the 850 and question about reliability or go with the 800.

Anyone have any experience or input?

I will be going boondocker sidekick again. Thanks

I have not rode an 850 turbo but my mtntk 800 axys is amazing. It really has no turbo lag and runs awesome.

800 Axys. The tuning and clutching has been all figured out so it’s better than tuning a year motor.

No budget.... if you can pick up a 850 I would go that route. Sled upgrades, motor, electronics, boards, suspension.....plus BD upgrades. I would go that direction.

Budget.... 18-19 with sidekick is still killer sled. Why not just freshen what you have and let er rip.

I completely agree. The rest of the sled (850) is so much better.

However, the value buy of a leftover ‘18 with all the goodies sure is appetizing. Unless the ‘19 800 was a steal, I’d go with the leftovers that are being given away right now.

IMHO 800 at this point, really need to give the 850 a year or two to get it all figured out and rock solid. My friend just went through the same thing and got a 2019 800 to do for now. And really with the boost levels we can make there is zero issue to want/need the extra 48cc's. Why not just go with a totally figured out pull and ride sled?

If all your going to do is go out and hold it wide open on the hill, sure you can turn the boost up.

The additional torque of the 850 combined with boost is awesome for tree riding. Clutching is dialed, fueling is good ..... giddy up. I wouldn’t be afraid at all to jump on a 850.

Now if ya said 18 800 or 19 800?
The new front end makes it worth going to 19
But your going to have that nagging internet bull**** “did your 850 go down already?” Floating in your head the whole time.. hard call! Add turbo and worry 2X more...
I would wait 1 more season for the 850
To get better

Thanks for the replies. Hoping someone has been on an 850 vs 800 turbo and if bottom end was really better. But that nagging is the motor solid has me worried. My 16 sheared the belt drive bolt last trip. So thinking might sale just to avoid any troubles. Just had Indy Dan redo clutches. Noticed no difference as it ripped before and after.
