On a sidenote don't get your rails Powdercoated.

Half a season and they are bent noodles.

Was that powder coating done by the place in Anchorage? Same one who comes on here jumping up and down claiming that powder coating and his company in particular do the low temp bake and it is safe? Does not take the heat treat / temper out of the aluminum.

A
Powdercoating them do in fact make them weaker, if they bake it to hot.
I lost a set the year before last. Went out and got the next set Anodized. Kept the strength and looked just as good.
Unfortunately, no one in AK Anodizes to my understanding.

……..
.....

I dont really want to give out names.
Pm me.
Talked to the powdercoater and he is gonna hook me up with other stuff.
Ordered anodized rails direct from ice age tho.

I wish i could say i hucked it big and bent them.
I dunno how i bent them.
Dismantled the skid to gusset the steel parts after seeing a few others fail and noticed.

I did NOT expect names, I find it humorous (not that you are out the time, money and parts) but that every year the owner? (Or one of his key employees) and his brat pack come on here claiming it is every bit as good and as safe as anodizing, when the fact is, regardless of how careful they are, any amount of time over 300 degrees F will anneal them and strength will be sacrificed. Period!

Sorry for your loss and I hope they are finally seeing the light, make it right with you and quit pushing powder coating on the un-educated consumer.

It wasnt advanced.
I would trust them with powdercoating my rails.
I personally know of a set that held up better than my uncoated ones.
Both stockers.
