We have been testing 36/40 and 36/42 progressive helix angles and found them to work great for mountain riding. The 36/40 for higher elevations and the 36/42 for lower. This is for up to 20lbs of boost. PM me or call if you want, we have them available.

If you hitting the limiter with the stock helix a shallower one is only going to make it worse. You need to throw more weight at it.

When you say working great, what improvements are you seeing? My clutching works good, (a little sluggish midrange) but way too much heat. Are you seeing less heat as well?

My sled has never built nasty heat. I am running the MDS weights. With the stock secondary I was getting hot, with the 36/40...I saw lower belts temps (not by much) and better quick throttle response and worked a lot better in the trees. I pulled my secondary off before riding the sled and cut the sheaves to the proper angle and made sure they were flat as well.

So your secondary sheave were not straight from factory. What angle did you cut to. I thought they matched the primary already.

I have taken apart 10 or so 2012 secondaries. NONE have been flat.

Take your clutch apart and put a straight edge on it. You will get a kick out of that.

Have not had any '13 clutches apart yet. We should have some to tear into next week.

Took my secandry apart, brought it to my buddy's shop shives were not even close to being strait and were just under 14 degree angle. Also going to get .095 off the shaft to be able to get 2013 belt alinment. Nothing a case of beer can't fix.

Racingstation think this spring would be any good with youre Mds weights, Polaris black, 36/42 helix and stock secondary spring.Replace the stock secondary with, Delton green gold 185 lbs.(@2.75") 320 lbs.( @ 1.5") stock spring 175 lbs. (@2.75") 285 lbs. (@1.5")

That 36/42 is for lower elevations- what this band-aid fix is a shallow 36/40 to spool the turbo up quicker- for us higher riders in the 6,000+ elevation.
The 2013 T 1000 comes with a backward 42/40 so a 36/40 as Eric stated will help- as good fix but it will still be sluggish on the on/off throttle........:sorry:- the Polaris Black is very over rated and is not a one use spring- as it's application has been sold across the board as a
" general" do everything spring.

This setup is with the MDS and the on/off throttle response is not sluggish. The primary spring is dictated by the elevation and the amount of boost you are running. We have 4 options on the primary and the Polaris black is not one of them. This is based on a full season of testing different clutches/springs/weights etc. Not by speculation.:sorry:

I meant for the 250HP plus sleds. The Polaris black works fine for the stock turbo setup, I do like a slightly softer finish rate.
