Looking yet again for some assistance from the ever knowledgeable SW.

I got this sled last week and tore into the engine, skid, yadda yadda.
Making sure everything checks out,
Did a top end rebuild.
The normal light stuff.
The sled is a 2004 Polaris Pro XR 440,
With an 05 440 engine.

I had 2 questions though.
1: Its got this button on the brake lever side.
The guy told me its called a "Hole shot button".
But I doesnt work.
I'd like to know if anyone knows how to fix it.

2: Theres this little knob.
About 1'x2'. Located right above the chaincase.
The guy I bought it from had no idea what it did,
Or if it worked.
So I thought maybe I'd check and see if anyone out there knew what it might be.

Whats the best way to remove rivets?

Any help, insight, and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Knob

The knob is to change the timming. The 440s had several different timing curves controlled by that box.
When depressed, the hole shot button cut the timing so you could wind up the motor at the start line and build heat in the pipe without the machine moving. That way when the flag dropped you had a hot pipe making power from the get go.
