Default Rear Suspension Talk

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about rear suspension on the 850...

- My last sled was a 15 163, with Ice Age Bomber Rails, "Fat Boy" springs, and Elka shocks from Tom.

- I'm 250ish with gear, pack, etc.

-I have a 18 165 showing up

-Ride Central WA, Sicamous, McCall

- Prefer tree riding and boondocking. Have to ride trails in.

...I'm interested in going to a BETTER rear suspension. Does anyone have thoughts on components to do so?

I see Zollinger has a "Zmotion" rear relocation bracket for 155 bucks.

https://www.zollingerracingproducts....tu39t1coei5576

I see ZBros has a conversion kit for 650ish.

http://zbrozracing.com/ski-doo-zbroz...ersion-kit-673

I see Raptor has a drop in for 1400ish

http://www.raptorshocks.com/store/pr...length%29.html

I see that Knod has a complete kit for 2650ish.

http://www.kmodsnowmobileparts.com/s...-turn-key-skid

I see Next Tech has a skid. Couldn't find price.

http://www.carbonsled.com/mono_suspension.html

... any thoughts on these? Any others? Anyone have seat time on these, OR others?

Ace

I have the stock shocks revalved and sprung, with the freeride rear suspension shock by enzo.

Fox makes a nice coilover shock and so does raptor.

...pardon my ignorance, but talk me through "Zmotion" as I don't think I have read up about it.

Found it! I was trying to find it Z Bros.

... to those that have done this reloacation bracket, was there a noticeable difference?

You realize it's exactly the same as drilling a hole farther back and moving the stock bolt?
An L shaped piece is still just connecting two pivot points like a straight piece.

Been doing it to sleds for years to stiffen the rear and help tame the wheelie.

It definitely works.

Default But then you loose height on your tunnel by an inch or maybe 2.

You loose tunnel height by 1 to 1.5 inches by doing that way.

Don't forget about Tom's. That's what you were riding on my 165 in McCall. He is coming out with a billet rear piece as well for this year. I am going to be running that on my NA and running the Tom's with Skinz ARC on my turbo.

unfortunately there is NO room for a new hole...
plus the ride height stays stock and the rail stiffener is a bonus...
