Sightly off topic - Being factory boosted - are there easy HP/mileage mods for the Ecoboost?

On most factory boosted vehicles, the intake/exhaust mods and bumping up the boost goes a long way. Or are those turbos out of breath at factory levels?

Seriously? Ford took the Handout long before anyone else and Chrysler..they don't know who there daddy is..Iaccoca maybe? Automakers taking govt money was way better than the AIRLINES.! ( what that get us )??

It is the government that lets foreign companies build plants on U.S. soil so they evade import tariffs etc. How many U.S. plants in Japan China Korea ???
We get screwed on exports and thats okay?

If they can build cars here why cant U.S. automakers...UAW perhaps?
Your Mexican truck costs less $$ you pay more $$$$ Having worked for Chysler and seeing " import duties declarations" on PT Cruisers for 13-19k $ you could see the games strategic commencement...

It is a GLOBAL market read the thread above there all shyt boxes waitin to break..Tracks Tires or Wires there all whored out somehow...que?

Im just glad there is still cool stuff to buy. All the who did what with whom I frankly I could care less about. Company's exsist to make mistakes and hopefully limp through to fight another day. Anybody that owned or ran a business understands that. Ya, there are vehicles that handle and perform better than trucks. Your point? I have all those too. Anyway, good for Ford for boosting power output. Hope someday there is a factory 1000hp pickup that gets good MPG. That's where it starts. A dream, a need, a want. Maybe LNG is the next big deal. I'd like to see the factory's do throwback trucks. Re-create the 67-72 GM truck style with a modern twist. That would be killer. I might trade my 13 in on a 15. Guess I'll see. The dealer hasnt had one in long enough to see one in person yet.

Well, put close to 1,000 miles on my "new" ecoboost in last 2 days. It definitely is not a diesel. Yes, it has incredible horsepower and torque (365 hp & 420 lb-ft of torque) but if you press the gas pedal to go faster, it downshifts too readily and spools up to higher rpms that in my opinion shouldn't be needed since it has that large flat torque curve.

Fuel economy with 3.55 axle:

70mph cruise control at low elevation on level ground: 18.8

80 mph cruise control climbing on a low grade to 6,600 ft from Kansas to Colorado Springs: 16.2

65mph: 19.9 mpg

Will let you know how it tows my 28 foot camper in about a month. I think it'll do just fine since my current tow vehicle has 247HP and 443 ft-lbs of torque and it has no problem towing the camper up 10,000+ passes.

I'm thinking a F250 superduty gets equal or better fuel economy...anybody care to share their 6.7L experiences?

That's better mileage than I got with my 2011 Eco for sure. I was close on the 70mph on flat, but Seattle is pretty hilly, averaged around 13 here in town and about 10-11 pulling a two place trailer up to the hills and back.

Just traded it in for a new 2014 F350 diesel. Sled deck ordered, hopefully get better mileage with this set up, but definately liking the diesel and it gets slightly better mileage already and it's not broke in yet...

You didn't just say that the diesel gets better mileage than the Eco did you? How dare you. The Eco owners will be here soon

My 2011 6.7 going 65-70 will get any where from 18 to 20 mph all day. Depended on head winds etc. It has been a great truck.

That is stock, tuned it did not get much better so no real gain there except for power.

I see the new 2015s are being advertised now and dealers are taking orders.

First ones can't be too far off now.

Smith Ford in Rexburg has one, took it for a drive last Saturday. Very noticeable difference in the way the truck runs over the 2011-2014.

Ford dealer here in Bozeman has a 2015 on the lot. I might go drive one for the fun of it.

Although I have a Ram 2500 Cummins on order to replace my Ecoboost.

Love my Ecoboost, I just need a 3/4 ton. Wish Ford would of put that motor in an F250. Or a V8 Ecoboost! F150 doesn't tow as stable as my 03 Cummins. Sags pretty good too. I have air bags which help a lot, but my 02 Chevy 3/4 ton 6.0 work truck tows a lot nicer, even though its gutless compared to the ecoboost.

After reading through the Powerstroke forums I had no desire to get a 6.7. Hopefully they fix the issues for 2015, but I'm not going to take a chance on it.
