The brake on my 09 M8 stuck the other day.
Anyone had this happen & know why...or better yet a solution?

Here's the history. Hadn't ridden in 3 weeks. Brake was set on lock that whole time (probably not smart).

Backed it off the trailer fine.
Rode around the parking lot in 5 inches of snow - just fine.
Rode up the trail 1 min & the motor started straining & sled slowed.
Popped the hood & threw a handful of snow on the dics. Steam!
Rocked the sled, reversed it a yard & tapped the disc pads with a shovel handle.
Worked ok for the rest of the day - but I'm concerned it might happen again.
Thoughts?

Don't know why it would have locked up to start with. But now that it has I have found if the pads strart to get thin they will rock in the caliper and "wedge" against the rotor. And the tolerance for wear is minimal. I had a good 1/8" or more of pad left but it still would wedge in there every time I rolled forward. Wouldn't do it in reverse.

Something to check.
