Sled has 1300 miles on. Pump is turned up and with lack of snow has came lack of drive and maintenance.

Ahhh thats better.

Sleds only real hick ups a varying wot rpm. Did the doo thermostat and no real improvement. Hoping this as well as a primary service will solve it.

-Orange engine cleaner.
-Utility knife
-1000 grit paper
-Gloves
-Drain pail
-Paper towel

Spray all down into pail. Scrape off with knife. Wipe down with paper towel. Scrape more. Wipe. Then use the sand paper. Then i sprayed them again and dried off with towel and what you see there is what i got.

Took longer to get them out of the sled.

That is one dirrrrty Valve-
I generally pull the valve and hit it with a wire wheel- clean in secondas and get the heavey's burnd oil odd in the areas where you generally have to scratch at.
I do mine twice a year- just for grins ( Stupid steering post anyway)makes it a bit more harder than it should....
I do not have my oiler turned up 1400 miles and waiting for the knife edge to make it a summer project for the "KIT"

We just cleaned our 2013 800 for the first time. Oiler is turned up 3 turns and the sled now has 3000 miles on it. Turned out it was a waste of time pulling them out. They were just fine. As far as cleaning, in the past I have use Dawn dish soap, oven cleaner and brake cleaner. Not all at the same time. Another trick, when scraping the valves off or scraping the old gaskets off I use an old plastic light switch cover. Can't damage the metal surface. The newer light switch covers are vinyl and don't work as well. $.02
