Got my hands on a slightly used Yeti Ski . As the TS ski was off, decided to fabricate a wheel kit at the same time . Yeti ski fits well, with the only modification done, was to drill out the TS bushing to 10 mm . I wanted to utilize the 10 mm titainium bolt that came with the ski. The silicone ski stopper pad fit right in, after removing the Yeti rubber ski stop. Machined an aluminum axle bushing that bolts to the lower spindle block. Longer 3-1/2" bolts replaced the stock 3" long bolts. This stays on the spindle. Machined the axle as shown, with a spacer one end. We will see how the $35 16" Chinese wheels hold up. They are holding 40 psi. 5/16" plastic knobs thread into the axle ends to hold the wheels on . Unfortunately not in the mountains until next weekend!
I have been told it is a great improvment, and will post back comments upon return .
Cheers !
