2003 versus 2004 800 SPI piston kit – are they compatible?

For the 800 edge RMK is the SPI 2004 piston any different than the SPI 2003 piston? Thank you guys!

No difference in the pistons. I don't know about "kit". My SPI catalog lumps all the BB 800s in to one listing.

If you are buying a "kit" from someone that includes gaskets and such then maybe they are giving you a different gasket of some sort. Originally Polaris uses paper base gaskets but then went to metal ones on the 800s, that is the only difference in them. But I haven't seen an aftermarket gasket set that has a metal gasket in it.

..........One more question.......... are the cylinders the same and completely interchangeable for all year 800 VES motors?

02 did not have the compression bleed holes by the exhaust valves like 03 and newer. Those holes were supposed to make it easier to pull over. Other than that I beieve they all should interchange, no differences.
