if cooling is potentially an issue why not make the coolant channel bigger to overcome the lost surface of having a shorter tunnel?

Unfortunately, that is where they saved some weight as well as going to thinner metal when going to the Pro-Ride & Axys tunnels. Personally, I'll gladly take the few extra pounds for larger tunnel coolers to have better cooling capacity. Those that installed MtnTk's full length tunnel coolers just added that weight back on plus some.

Yes, depending which track you choose. Many use the same drivers. You could call TracksUSA and ask Tony or go to their website that lists many of them here: https://www.tracksusa.com
As far as the rails go, of course you could spend more money on a weaker OEM rail or call IceAge and get a better set for less than OEM or if your really hard on stuff or want the added security you can spend a little more for the IceAge Bomber rail which is still cheaper than OEM. Check out each at http://www.iceageperformance.com/polaris-rails/mountain/axys-chassis/axys-rmk-rails.html

Some changes depending on track could mean you should run an anti-stab kit (doesn't work in Detroit, Chicago, LA or NY;))

I would also consider a gear down kit (even on stock length) from Tom at TKI. I have never heard someone with his gear down belt drive system say they weren't happy with his products! He also has offset axles, big wheel kits, anti-stab kits and more. http://www.tkicnc.com/home.html

i really like the x3 3" track. if mama doesn't get me a new sled next year, mine will get the 163.
i have an SKS so cooling is not an issue with the front cooler.

So can I run a 153 track on my 10 xf tunnel without the track hitting the coolant lines on compression?
