Canmore Alberta / Banff Questions

Considering a trip to Grand Canadian Resort located in Canmore, Alberta this Feb. Anyone have any advice / recommendations? Can you ride from this resort? If not what is the drill? Elevation, what do we need to worry about if pulling sleds in from the U.S.A.? The resort is close to Banff National Park, are you allowed to ride in Banff? Any information appreciated

You cant ride in Banff National Park and the closest good riding is Golden, BC, Canmore hasnt had enough snow in many years. Golden is about 2 hours from Canmore, Revelstoke is approx 3 1/2 hours.

what he said!!!!!!!!!!! i live close to canmore and there is NO sledding whatsoever there!!!!!!!!! have to head to golden or revy!!!!!!! probably better to stay there as well, canmore due to it's proximity to banff is PRICEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yup, missing riding in the upper spray lakes by about 29 years. onward to golden.

the only sledding in Banff is if ya goto sunshine village or lake lousie ski resorts and get hired on as a liftie or avalanche patrol. :beer;
