The Buena Vista "SnowDrifters" club is in serious need for some advise and answers to questions that have been lacking for some years.
First our club does not seem to have an status with the IRS concerning our designation of a 501c3. Are there clubs out there that are operating as something different? I know there are limitations for gross income for this exemption and also for receiving grants. Please, if you have any information we would appreciate it. Our past officers did not keep records up to date and we are in need of some advice. Thanks!
Also, membership drives and meeting attendance are lacking. I have decided and volunteered to head up some social events to get more people interested in joining our group. What are others doing to help promote your club and mostly our sport.
Our club is in trouble because of lack of active membership. Without our club, and this is a reality, we may have to disband. Where does that leave those in Colorado??? No grooming in the Cottonwood Pass, Taylor and Tincup area. Our club takes care of these areas and manages the parking.
So with that said, we need more active members, better organization etc. We just voted tonight to donate a good sum to Blue Ribbon to fight the Hidden Gems, but without a club in this area, kiss it goodbye. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
