How does it hold up? Can you still open and close the vents?

Don't think I have ever closed my vents.

Krylon works well because it can handle some flexxing. I just pulled the vents out, cleaned and scuffed them, and put about 4 coats of black paint on them. I waited a while in between coats, then just mounted them back in.
I just leave the vents open all the time too.

a riding buddy pulled his and did them in yellow krylon and they work great
he has since sold that to another friend and 4 years later they look factory

i agree no need to close vents never have on mine and we play in the deep fluffy
