sno scoot track mod????

I have a 1988 yamaha sno scoot 80cc. The track is in perfect condition but it has nothing for traction/paddles, Has anyone ever added some kind of paddles to these tracks for better deep snow conditions. The sled is for my 5 year old son and he would like to get around bettter.

AD Boivin has a shorter bike conversion track which might fit with a bit of work (only one set of drive lugs) and would give it more bite.

That is really cool but im afraid its out of my budget. I was thinking more in the line of cleats, like they use to rivet on the old polaris snowmoile tracks. Just dont know where to get the cleats/bars.
