Any body willing to give some tuning tips. Sled is a n 09 m1000 PCV and full exhaust kit. I have done a full throttle uphill pull in about 4' of fresh for 45 to 50 seconds with a plug chopp. all looks real good maybe a touch rich but I like it. EGT was solid 1153 degrees and steady. My questions how do I know that the mid range is in a good/safe spot. Around 5500-6800 I sea temps around 1275. Two little blirps on the flipper and it drops down to about 950 degrees. Does a plug chopp work at the mid range as well. I know I need to luook at pisto wash but have not yet. Any suggestions or tips.

Mid temps are usually higher on EGTs than wide open temps. I am not sure I am even going to put my egt setup on my new(er) sled this year, as the readings just don't mean that much unless calibrated to piston wash. Mid throttle chop should work for plugs as well. My mod KC last year, I don't think I ever even checked the wash OR plugs, I like to err on the side of rich (especially with that much power on hand) and am pretty good at feeling/listening to the mixture when riding by how it runs/exhaust sound.

im new to the whole egt thing too...heres what i was showing today..midrange about 6800 to 7200 was 890-950 depending on load and wide open was 1025-1180 on a good pull. i saw 1200 once and thats it. now my readings may be a bit off cause i have a lot of oil in the tank as i just put pistons in. but my plugs are a dark chocolate.

Im running a boss noss fuel programer.
CPC twin pipes, snopro intake, reeds and spacer.
two gallons of 116VP racing fuel to a tank of 91
on a 07 M8 153
