Good stuff, they are gonna kick butt, but not sure about the 174 thing. The 165 in the new chassis is going to smoke it, they won't be selling many 174 sleds next year.

So confused. Freeride old chassis, I started looking at MXZ sleds, longtrack one to make a "new" Freeride, the XRS is the old chassis also. Very strange. I am sure they could only change so much, but I cannot see anyone buying a premium Doo next year (Freeride/Summit/MXZ) without the new engine and clutch/chassis?

Summit X 174 with old chassis/engine right? It looks identical to the '16 174. I thought I was buying a new 174 with the new engine/chassis, but now not so sure.

No, I don't think so.
The Summit SP is the old school style
The X should be the new one.

must have been an issue with getting a 3.5" pitch 3" 174 track made this year? only reason i can think of to not offer it on the new g4 and only make an xm version

X 174, same sled as last two years unless I am missing something. 800 ETEC, same dimensions, running boards, RAS 2, etc.

Exactly. The 165 new chassis is going to smoke the 174 old chassis.
My dealer has been texting me, he is going to complain, lol. In the past, when dealers have complained, things have changed.........
I really don't think that someone who owns multiple sleds will be happy with the old engine, next to the new one. Or chassis. SO it kinda limits options......

I am complaining a lot, lol. They have a completely new sled here, it is badarse. I just wish it would have carried over to all the high end models. Kinda silly to me to consider the 174 X a snowcheck sled when it is a very old model compared to what is out there. EVERYTHING is new on these new sleds.
We had an advantage on the Axys this year with the 174, next year with their 174 they will have the edge in the super deep.
The more I look at the black 154/165, the tighter my pants get. :)

Ya
Now that I am looking at it closely I tend to agree.
But WHY??

There's a corny video on skidoo website of a guy at expo mentioning that they didn't update the 174 because of time constraints and amount tuning required. I'm paraphrasing a little don't remember exact quote. I'm sure they don't sell as many 174's.
