Snowy Range Wyoming Avy Fatality

Just heard of a avalanche in the Snowy Range in Wyoming that happened Wed. afternoon. Looks like one fatality.

The three survivors were lucky enough to have others there to dig them out. Be careful. Travel with a large group. Sure paid off for these guys. RIP

The feeling I get from reading that article is that it wasn't a suffocation fatality, it almost sounds to me like it was more of the blunt trauma case ...

I dont know, did anyone else get that impression from reading the article? If that was the case all the avy gear in the world probably wasn't gonna save him ...

the way in interepretted was he was the first one found but was already dead then they found the rest of them

i agree, that is one area we never ventured. i was thinking it was closer to w which is a good area too.
still very sad it had to happen...

Going by what another member (who was involved) has posted in another thread, there are 2 stories about the accident. The media and authority side, and the people involved side (which I would tend to believe first). Hopefully we will get the details with location and events that led up to the slide, in due time.
