Turbo shorty build

Starting with a 08 xp 800r motor rebuilt with a new crank and top end, an aero charger 66 hit I had on my xp, and a good deal on an 07 rev race chassis 121"

So I started off with putting the motor back together. Took the stripped chassis and mocked up the motor plate... Just had to tap two existing holes in the bottom of the 800r and the plate bolts right up...

Motor all in and mounted up... Got the pipe in (already welded up with stinger removed) exhaust piping welded up to turbo. Yes it has a side dump for now but eventually will go straight out the stock exhaust hole.

Still have to build a support bracket for the turbo, mock up intake piping. Put carbs and airbox on, and get the cooling system and wiring installed...

We are going to strip the harness down to just what's necessary because I'm using a rev harness. Still going to run the tach but that's it...

Trust me, from having one with a 136 track... your going to have sooooo much fun on this! i would put a tall lug 121 or a 136x2 on it so you can get traction. It is unreal where you can go in deep snow, with a bit of momentum you will go where 154 and 163's dream of going!

Goodluck with the build!

I think I would get extensions cu your rails wouldn't work with the skid... How the transfer blocks and such work... But I'm thinking extending to 136 would be sweet!! Actually I might have a set of extensions at my house haha

Yeah I think I'm going to extend to 136" and yeah keeping the wide front end for now. On a budget build lol...

I do have a brand new set of sly dog 8" powder skis that I won on one of their giveaways. I will be putting those on so that won't help it get any narrower haha but they will be sweet!

Got it all wrapped up and running with the turbo set up... Haven't got a chance to run it yet... Good feeling getting it running tho!

What were you getting for track speed? My guess is with that track you could gear it way up. You should easily swing 90+ I would think.

Thunder

no gauges, got the SDI special wiring harness. coil pickups, and 12v power for accesories. thats it. VERY simple wiring harness.

That thing looks like a blast. Nice job. Better brace the steering column, I can see some flip overs in that sleds future!!

Did you port or polish the intake? Looks very shiney on the pic w/ the engine in the sled.
