Wondering which way to rotate the stator plate in order to advance the timing. Right now the timing mark is matched to the mag housing mark (stock setting?). I was wondering if I would benefit any by advancing the timing a little. Also when I took the mag housing off I noticed a lot of sealant between it and the crankcase. Is it necessary to have sealant there. If so do I need to use actual case sealant or will some high-temp silicone work alright. Thanks

You move the staor the opposite way that the engine turns. So you would turn it back wards on most sleds. It depends on what sled you have on wether or not it will help or just blow it up. Usually sealnat is not requied there because the recoil is vented anyhow with the exception of a watercraft engine.
