Oh we’re not done yet, then add 12% more on any purchase. But don’t forget, the after tax money you buy things with has already been taxed at 20-45%. Now the taxed money gets taxed another 12%! Fun fun fun! Add it all up and it’s 50% plus. But wait, let’s buy some cauliflower for $8/ head! If this was USA, there would be a mutiny. IMG_0314.jpeg

If your going to throw in everything don’t forget property taxes, liquor taxes, gas taxes, cpp, ei etc, etc. And despite everything it isn’t really less in a lot of states, especially if you are paying for your own medical, if your company is, that’s just money you could be getting that they are spending for you. Pick your poison.

Any case, if the price is to much, you just don’t buy, whether it is the manufacturer, the dealer fees or the taxes that is driving it.

The tax rates in Alberta range from 10% to 15% of income and the combined federal and provincial tax rate is between 25% and 48%.
Then add GST 5 % and the F$$$ing carbon tax plus CPP and EI and yea were close to 50% deductions. Man do we need to make some changes!!!
Alberta has no provincial sales tax so every other province has to add that on too

Except that is the top rate and only on your earnings over around $200,000, so you would have to be making millions to pay an a average 50% on your earnings. Taxes are probably to high for what we get from them but isn’t that true of pretty much everything now a days.

I received a survey last fall for snowmobile market research. There were questions about increasing the amount of tech added to sleds, what the preferred power range would/should be to entertain the rider ranging from 60-200hp, colors, brands, shock packages, and the one that caught my eye, the pricing ranging from a bone stock $10,000 to a tricked out sled capping at $30,000. My takeaway: Manufacturers are testing the water to get to a $30K sled as soon as they can and what options they have to include to get them there.
I struggle to get potential new riders interested at that rate.
