Hi guys just rebuilt my 1999 XLT touring 600. Wondering if just running a quart of oil in the 1st tank of fuel is sufficient or if the oiler should be adjusted for more oil thanks for the help! Chris

I'd say a quart per tank would be a lot (that alone gives you 40:1 if you have a 10 gal. tank) on top of the injected oil. I'd suggest 1/3 quart with the first 3 gallons, mostly to verify the oiler is working, then 1/2 qt. with the first full fill, and jet a step or two up (extra oil will make it leaner). Finish with 1/3 qt. the next several fills, adjust your oil pump to optimize the mix ratio, and you should be set. Extra oil is helpful for break-in, but more than an extra 50% or so is just going to make it run bad.
