1. Clean the primary clutch (All Skidoo clutches need to be cleaned, the arms stick on every clutch I have looked at)
2. Have the clutches aligned, Service Bulletin 2009-12 (This should be covered under warranty if you have an 09)
3. Add some vents (not realy needed if 1 and 2 are done, but will not hurt anything)

Nothing wrong with vents, but that's only a mask for a bad setup. Proper alignment and setup and you will have less heat and better performance.
Also, you want to run 8100rpm.....running MORE or LESS RPM will make more heat regardless of setup.

8100-8200 rpm is mandatory...just like WB said...higher/lower than that will cause heat no matter what...the dealer cant align the clutches, you need REVMANS shim kit...a 154 sled needs a 20 top gear...get the 2009 knock sensor update from the dealer...BJ
