2012 4M Ride - Crested Butte / Almont

2012 4M Ride (simple version):

1. DATE:

Feb 18-20, 2012 (Pres. Day)


2. LODGING

Book rooms at Almont Resort and 3Rivers Resort and ask for the 2012 4M Rate. (SW, BCR, S&M, whomever wants to ride)

3. RIDE SCHEDULE:

Saturday - Irwin / Kebler Pass (738" last season!)
Sunday - Taylor Park / Cottonwood on
Monday - Cement Creek / Spring Creek (or Irwin again)

Gunnison County SnoTrackers will snowcat out grills & food & donation/registration bucket to the Irwin "Y" on Saturday.


4. FOOD!

EAT STEAKS at 3Rivers/Almont Lodge on Staurday Night & gather at the bar.
Montanya Rum distillery is open in Crested Butte for Sunday after riding - or we could get the back of Maxwell's set up.


5. DRIVE:

Monday evening drive home. (while the locals continue to ride!)


6. HARASS:

Monday night - post embarrassing photos of stuck sleds & Saturday night's drunks.

Our restaurants, lodges, gas stations, sled dealers and the local club would love to host a boat load of snowmobilers!

I'd be interested in this (but I'd probably sleep at home in CB). I'd be riding that weekend anyway, might as well meet some people. Awesome area, I'm surprised no one else on here has spoke up.

The last one at Almont was a blast! Couple big houses for rent in among the cabins. The riding could be the best in the world? or close.

I think lots of folks would be at Powderhorn on Pres. day weekend.

Colorado is lucky to have landed a RMSHA event, and we should support it.

At the SnoTracker's meeting this week we'll discuss the annual 3-Club ride, and hopefully set a date - if we do it, that may be a good weekend for folks to visit and explore. Usually cat the grill out to the "Y", group rides by ability, etc..

Details will be posted at www.snotrackers.com by week's end if it's a go.
