new to snow bikes. Have a 06 KX450. Found a few deals on 18 Mototrax and some deals on 16/17 timbers. Fairly different designs between them. Anyone ridden both. Looking for comparisons

……..
Timbersled is more reliable
Better weight transfer.

Mototrax is heavier steering.
You need all the paid for updates to have a reliable machine.

I have both actually. As said above, you need to get the updated parts for the Mototrax. The RAD dampener and the IDS really help. Set up also makes a huge difference in the handling/steering -- the height of the shock under the seat changes a lot, and the 1" base adapter for the ski really helps with ski pressure.
Message me for more details if you get the Mototrax.
As said, the Timbersled is reliable and simpler on the set up end. Just bolt on and go.

Timbersled for sure. It’s hard enough getting your bike to run right let alone constantly working on your kit which you would be doing constantly with the Mototrax. The timber sleds are pretty much plug and play. If you get a 16 make sure that has the updated chains. Can’t remember the number because it’s been too long. Just search.

Welcome to the snowbike world. The 120 RAW is fine. You'll be surprised at what kind of powder you can make it through.

Mike, where do you ride? Maybe I missed it. The 120 actually does really well. I bought a 137 timbersled back in 16 thinking I needed it for D powder but it was like driving a limousine. Definitely got me to a lot of places but went to a 120 riot later and had way more fun and still got everywhere although I did have to poach tracks sometimes. Currently on a 129 3 inch riot and wishing it was a 125 3 inch. Rambling a bit, but you are going to love that thing!
