Wolf Creek - 2020/2021

I just got back from a trip to Wolf Creek. The storm over the weekend dropped around 30" of fresh powder. Riding on Sunday and Monday was incredible. Pushing snow over the hood constantly.

Old thread but there's not a lot of action in the Colorado section anyway. Good base at Wolf Creek today 1/14/22. In need of some fresh powder. Maybe 4-6 in. of powder currently. I didn't find any real deep powder even in the trees or shady areas.

Wolf Creek used to be a great place that was rarely crowded, except maybe at Christmas and new years. Now even in the middle of January and February on a weekday, the parking lots are full of out of state plates and you have to know the area very well to find untouched terrain. It's like Rabbit Ears from 10 years ago.

Should have seen it this weekend. Rarely seen so many trucks and trailers
i went on Feb 24/25 which is a Thursday and Friday and even the overflow parking lots were full by 8AM. Even the parking lots where most "beginner" riders go to just have a chill day were overflowing.

The South Fork area has a lot of riding, but realistically only 4 parking lots if you don't count the top of the pass, and those parking lots have always been sufficient until the past year or two

Head over the summit to the Pagosa side, there is a little more parking further down the mountain as well
