I have another picture and the chassis is a 1981 SRX. But that motor does not match. I have not seen a liquid cooled motor (note water pump) with fins on it.

???

It seems to me that the first Yamaha liquid cooled engine did have the cooling fins on it. All they had was the radiator you can see in the picture with no other coolers where snow would help cool. I say it is the original motor.

Looking at the drive clutch ,It looks like a Polaris P-85 or a comet 102c clutch. I had an old 76 340 old John deere Liquifire with a Kiroitz engine. sort of looks like that to me.

Chassis is for sure yamaha v-max or late SRX, not sure on the motor. I am 100% positive it is not the motor that came in that chassis, and am pretty sure it is not Yamaha.

It is a 1976 or 1977 Rupp Nitro 440 or 340. I had a freind who had one of these things in the late 80's which I rode. It was very fast for the day (100mph across the lake on a 440). It has a Xennoa engine which was used in some Rupps and Chapparrals. They had the radiator and also had coolant pass through the aluminum extrusion in the front bumper. The stock clutch was an Arctic Cat hex shaft clutch. The 340 was rated at aprox. 70hp, the 440 was rated 80-90hp depending on if it was a 76 or 77.
