where abouts should the tee on the tube that goes into the air box sit in relation to the carb inlets.

I just looked at my buddies viper and if its the tee your talking about it was right above the carb closest to the clutch. hope that helps.
Just as long as it is near the carb inlets you are good. Mine actually sits almost at the bottom of my airbox. I have known some people to run it outside the airbox both under the hood or outside the hood. But since this all works together, it really should be close to the carb inlets.
