Updated: Latest HP# on Jaws Twins for the 2010-2011 M8 HO

I have been traying to keep in touch with Jaws about their twin pipes for the M8, here is the last correspondance I got today. I cant wait to see what they can muster out of this sled as far as HP numbers.I like the single pipes myself, but thought I would throw another option out there for those who like to dial in the twin pipes on their laydown motors.

Yes we will have a set of twin pipes ready for the season. We are just finishing off testing and the tooling. We will update our website when we have the final numbers. The pipes will be $849-$899.

FYI: New Info from JAWS on these pipes:

These pipes are in the 173 hp range. Approximately 15 hp over stock on the top end and huge gains on the bottom. They do require a boondoocker box as well as some clutching modifications.

Something isn't adding up, or I'm off on the cat #'s. I thought they were over 160 stock?

Dynotech dyno'd an F8 and it made 163hp. IIRC with the different pipe configuration on the M8, it was rumored to be in the 157-160hp range. Wish they would dyno a 10 M8 out there as I don't think I've even ever seen a dyno on it yet... snowtech maybe?

ok, I think I was hearing the dyno numbers & assuming that was advertised cat #'s. Either way unless Jaws' dyno is way low, the 15hp figure seems off to me.

I think I would like to see a dyno and tq comparison of the lightweight performance pipes (Speedwerx, SLP, D&D) versus the Jaws twins.

I think 158-160 is realistic stock HP on a 2010 M8, the F series always bests the M series in HP and I believe this is due to the pipe configuration?

Sure would like to see someone take a 09 and 10 Xfire -M 800 to DTR and try out some twin pipes and other goodies.
173 HP sounds GOOD

slp dynoed the 2010 M8 at 157 hp, and their single pipe set brings it to 166 hp (haven't come out with twins yet)

I will check with them and see

At this point it is about developing the mapping via Boonie box and finding a good clutching setup. I imagine a little closer to winter would be the best bet for getting this beast dialed in.

Hopefully these will not be hard to tune!

If they are anything like the M7 twins they made, they'll be very finicky.

The M7 Jaws twins I've seen fit terrible.

They sure did sound nice though.

I have not heard anything new about these, but i will check on it. Any twins on the M7 were finiky, not sure about the M8, but hopefully the 800 is taking better to the twins than the 700 did.

I have a pair on My 08 M8, and they are awseome. The respons in the enginge is so great, and way better than stock. Aslo had SLP pipe on it before the jaws, and the jaws pipes makes the engine snappy as .... over the slp pipe. Did put out 165hp on the last dyno run. Some more porting to be done, and I would be aiming for 170hp.

what are you using for a fuel controller....did you have to shim the base gasket higher...did you have to change timing key..???...thanx
