good classes

These classes are very good for every snowmobiler in North Dakota. The info will last a lifetime. If you ride in any terrain over 25 degree steepness you have traveled in avy terrain. add in weakened snow in massive quantity and the danger level increases dramatically. many from Norht Dakota have been killed in avalanches when in the mountains.

Avalanche Class in Iowa - a big success

Had a class last night with Mike in Remsen, IA. About 50 snowmobilers showed up and Mike put on a great presentation. The class is geared toward snowmobilers and has some great information that you probably wouldn't get in a ski/snowboard or avalanche science oriented class.

I took two friends who were only mildly interested because they didn't think it really applied to them and their type of riding. They were really impressed and have much more respect for the danger of the backcountry than they did before the class. And now they are much better prepared. With plans to head to the Snowies (first trip) and Steamboat again this year I'm feeling better prepared.

At $49.00 it is a great bargain. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to attend.
